2014 marks the Waimate Motorsport Inc's 5th running of the Waimate 50 GT Series - an iconic New Zealand Event with a rich history dating back to 1959 when a young man called Bruce McLaren won the first Waimate 50. Sponsored by McKeown Petroleum, the Waimate 50 GT Series features a full on weekend of gravel and tarmac racing. Events include a hill-climb to the iconic Whitehorse monument and the adrenalin fuelled street racing action through the main streets of Waimate on Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday.
There will be loads of other entertainment for the thousands of people to enjoy over the weekend from throughout New Zealand and overseas. Motorsport fans will have access to the ever popular wheel changing competition, D1NZ drifting, Live Bands, Auto Show, Promo Girls, Motorcycle Stunt Riders, Trade Stands, Children's entertainment plus much more!
The central business area will undergo a major transformation in the weeks leading up to the event from a quite country town to a full scale race circuit. There are many good vantage areas for spectators to get up real close to the action, something that only street circuits can create. There are plenty of food stalls, activities and things of interest around every corner.
So make sure you book the long weekend in 25- 26 October, 2014 for the McKeown Petroleum Waimate 50 GT Series. For further event details, http://www.waimate50.co.nz
